Teenagers Summer Camp in Photography
These courses run for two weeks from:
9th August - 13th August
16th August - 20th August
Times: 11.00 am - 1.00 pm each day
Ages: Secondary level: 12 - 17/18 years
Cost €120 per week or €200 for the two weeks.
These courses are suitable for anyone wishing to start the pursuit of photography as a career in the future, or those simply wishing to become more proficient in a fun past-time. Week one is suitable for complete beginners, while week two builds on the first week and is also suitable for those with some previous experience who have not taken the first week.
Week two involves starting the basis of a working portfolio, which can be built on over time. Topics considered for this include portraiture, landscape and documentary photography. Students will be taught the fundamentals of exposure, composition and camera techniques using natural lighting as well as some studio portrait techniques. We will also be taking a look at the aesthetics of master photographer throughout the history of photography to gain an insight of what makes a good photograph.
Topics covered include:
• History of Photography, aesthetics and photo theory
• Exposure: Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO
• Camera Settings
• Practical exercises, including field trips
• Review and Critique of students work
• Intro to portraiture and documentary photography
• Downloading/ storing and processing images using a photo editor
• Portfolio creation
