Past Exhibitions
Wildlife photographer Jack Malins, now living outside Gorey, is holding ‘Our Vibrant World’ an exhibition of Wildlife and Nature Photography at the Bright Life Gallery in Greystones, from Saturday 28th November – Friday 4th December.
Jack who is an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society, has brought together a collection of images from the Arctic, Africa, India, Peruvian Amazon Ireland and Scandinavia, ranging from polar bears to insects. Originally from Northern Ireland, Jack has enjoyed success in many photographic competitions both at home and abroad.
He’s always loved to photograph, especially nature and wildlife. His holidays have been tailored to take in the wonders of life in the arctic, the wildebeest migration in Africa, sometimes to spend a week alone in the forest of Finland waiting for wolf to pass by. This has necessitated patience and knowledge of the animal’s habits. Always, it has been worth all the time and effort. Imagine a brown bear coming straight for you in the wild, waiting and watching to capture him close-up, waiting for him to pass by! Imagine standing on pack ice in the North Pole, watching a polar bear across the ice, knowing how hungry he was, and knowing that the only space between you and his next meal was a couple of yards of arctic ocean? This is the thrill of wildlife photography.
